Check dates

Which room, which month

The weather up here decides a lot. Pick a date and you'll see what that month is like, and which rooms fit your party.

Demo availability: which rooms show as taken is made up, and nothing is booked.

    Four rooms

No two the same, and no televisions in any of them.

Cane chairs and tea on a wooden verandah over terraced hills

    Mornings on the verandah

Tea at seven, when the peaks are pink and the valley is still under cloud. Breakfast at nine, and nobody minds if you're late.

    Food, walks and getting here

    Before you book

    How do we get there?
Train to Kathgodam, then a three-hour drive up through Almora. We'll book a taxi for you from the station.
    Is there food?
Breakfast and dinner are part of the stay, cooked in the kitchen from what's in season. Lunch on request.
Is there mobile signal and Wi-Fi?
Jio and Airtel work on the verandah. Wi-Fi is slow but steady, fine for email, not for video calls.
    Can we bring a dog?
In the Orchard Cottage, yes. Tell us when you book; the house dogs need to be introduced.
Is it suitable for elderly parents?
The Orchard Cottage and Deodar Room are step-free from the car. The Attic has 24 steep stairs.
    What if the road closes?
In the monsoon it sometimes does. If you can't reach us on the day, we move your dates without a fee.
