The firm

Two partners, four article assistants and an office manager who knows every file by its colour. On the first floor of a pol house off Relief Road since the partners left a bigger firm to work with smaller businesses.

We take about forty retainer clients and stop there, so a partner reads every return before it's filed.

If you ask whether something is allowed, you get the answer in an email, with the section it comes from.

Bad news early

If you're going to owe more tax, you hear it in the quarter, not in July.
