What we wind / Torsion springs

Torsion springs
Twists and returns
The coil winds tighter as the legs turn, and pushes back as a torque. We bend the legs to your angle and length.
| Wire | 0.4 to 5.0 mm |
|---|---|
| Size | Leg angles to your drawing, single or double body |
| Materials | Music wire, 302 and 316 stainless, oil-tempered and chrome silicon for heat |
| Finishes | Plain and oiled, zinc, passivated, black oxide |
| Quantities | One prototype to production runs |
Options
- Straight, hooked or bent legs
- Left or right hand wound
- Spacing between coils to cut friction
- Double torsion, two bodies joined by one loop
Where you'll find them: Hinges, clips, lids, mouse traps and clothes pegs, return levers.
Before you send a drawing
- Is there a minimum order?
- Not for samples: one spring is fine. Production runs usually start at a few hundred, because setting a coiler takes the same hour whether it makes ten or ten thousand.
- What tolerances do you hold?
- EN 15800 grade 2 for compression springs unless your drawing asks for tighter. Tell us which dimension matters most and we hold that one closest.
- Will you sign our NDA?
- Yes, before you send the drawing. Yours or ours. Drawings stay on our server and nobody outside the works sees them.

Load and travel, the space it lives in, where it works, and how many. A drawing helps; a used sample also works.
